About Ingatestone EAL
Ingatestone EAL is run by Tamara Nichols, a qualified teacher and formerly an Essex Senco. She has a wealth of experience of working with young people with complex needs and their families.

She has achieved her Level 4 certificate in Facilitating Equine Assisted Learning accredited by OCN London as well as having relevant training in safeguarding, first aid, food hygiene and health and safety.

Tamara works alongside Sonia Powell, who is currently completing her Level 4 certificate. We offer 1:1 or small group sessions for children and young people to regain their confidence and self-esteem in a non-judgemental environment.

Sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the individual learner and activities are led by the interests of the learner. They can vary in length according to need, from 2 to 6 hours, and can be delivered on an individual or small group basis. The sessions may include horse work, art and craft, bush craft, cooking, dog walking and animal care.

Set in 45 acres of traditional pasture, woodland and ponds, near Ingatestone in Essex. Ideally situated to provide a range of learning opportunities. A herd of 8 horses are kept as naturally as possible, friendly dogs, guinea pigs, a cat, ducks, chickens and geese all contribute to our ability to make learning opportunities worthwhile and meaningful.

The activity room is well-resourced and provides a comfortable place to explore arts, crafts, cookery, construction toys or just to somewhere to sit and have a hot chocolate whilst watching the birds visiting the feeding station.
